Electrical supply cords must be:

(a) either 30 metre length and standard as set out in the earlier AS 3001;

or

(b) must meet the requirements of the later AS/NZS 3001:2001. This Standard permits supply leads to any be of four different maximum lengths depending on cable size. These are set out in Table 5.1 of AS/NZS 3001:2001. These sizes are:

Note that supply leads must now be of one continuous length. It is not permitted to join two or more leads end-to-end.
